Flawless Mom is a site for moms everywhere who know they are anything but flawless, but strive every day to be the best moms they can be. I grew up in Woodland Hills, CA which makes me a real, live Valley Girl. After graduating high school with a B average and a C cup, I attended college at UCLA’s theater department and failed miserably. I left after two quarters with a GPA that matched my cup size and began doing sketch comedy, looking for agents, and doing something I’m really, really good at… Waiting tables. The waitressing and sketch comedy went on for about six years until I landed my first big gig on “Seinfeld”. After another year of serving I booked my first series regular job on “Mad TV”, which is where I met the man who would become my husband. Since then I’ve been unemployed as much as I’ve been employed, and three years ago I became a mom after years of waiting for the “right time”.
Jobs come and go, but the best and most consistent thing in my life is my family. I have never been less secure in work, or more secure in love than I am now. But being a mom is a daily learning experience and I often find that I don’t have any of the answers. So like many moms, I do the best I can with a little research and a lot of intuition. Whatever insight (or lack thereof) I have from my experiences, you’ll see here. I hope there will be lots of feedback, because I can’t see you nodding or hear your amens. I’m not perfect, and that’s flawless.
